What’s Included

The course covers the six essential forging techniques:

  • Bending (typically turning an eye)

  • Drawing Down (reducing a section of steel to a point)

  • Jumping Up (increasing a section of steel)

  • Punching (making a hole)

  • Cutting (using a hot-set or chisel)

  • Fire Welding (joining two pieces of metal in the forge)

Participants will use some or all of these techniques to create a piece of work to take home.

In addition to this, you will have a fascinating insight into the history of forge work and blacksmithing.
